Link to More Information
As Program Associate you will take the lead on one or more current initiatives and engage with colleagues to develop new initiatives that advance the office’s goals. Those initiatives will engage a range of jail-population reduction efforts, improved processes from police encounter to court disposition, and addressing the behavioral health needs of persons at risk of justice system involvement, with contributions to our reshaping prosecution work that is in development. The work will involve a deep understanding of the substantive policy issues, how those issues play out in practice, and data- and good practice-based options for system improvement. We place an emphasis on what can be achieved in close partnership with local criminal justice system leaders. We aim to learn from and share with leaders in the community to ensure that the needs of those most closely impacted by the system are reflected in our work.

You will work in genuine collaboration with the office’s other staff and with one or more supervisors, as well as independently. The responsibilities of this position will vary depending on your level of experience, interests, and skills, and the evolving needs of the office.
