Operations Manager at Tennessee Higher Education Initiative

The Tennessee Higher Education Initiative (THEI) seeks a full-time Operations Manager. The position will be located at the THEI office in Nashville.  Under the direction of the THEI Executive Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for the management and seamless running of both long-term and day-to-day operations for THEI. As a key member of the core staff, the Operations Manager will coordinate internal organizational systems to further promote the THEI mission and will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day effectiveness of THEI internal systems, finance, and human resources functions. S/he will play a collaborative role in developing and implementing systems that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our work and supporting our ability to grow and expand impact.

The ideal candidate can start before June 1, 2019. Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to providing educational opportunities to at-risk populations and understand the mission of THEI to be located within a larger social-justice movement. Further, we seek applicants who have experience working in a non-profit and/or working in a prison environment; experience building infrastructure for a fast-growing organization; excellent organizational and time management skills; and a strong commitment to breaking cycles of poverty and incarceration.  Familiarity with Tennessee HR policies and practices are a benefit. We encourage folks who have been impacted by the criminal-justice system to consider applying. 

The position is a full-time exempt position. The starting salary is $40,000 per year, plus full medical/dental insurance, a monthly wellness stipend, and generous paid leave and holidays.
