Part-Time Research Assistant at Holy Cross College

​The Research Assistant will assist in the development, implementation, and dissemination of an evaluation of the Moreau College Initiative (MCI), a collaborative academic initiative of Holy Cross College and the University of Notre Dame at Westville Correctional Facility. MCI offers a full liberal arts curriculum to incarcerated college students. This limited-term (approximately two years) part-time appointment is supported by the Institute for Higher Education Policy in Washington, D.C. The Research Assistant will conduct literature reviews to identify Key Indicators of Success for alumni of college-in-prison programs, potential mechanisms for change for MCI graduates, as well as promising measures with sound psychometric properties. This information will be used to inform the development of research hypotheses and related data-collection protocol. The Research Assistant will work with an Assessment Coordinator to collect all in-person data as well as with staff from Holy Cross College and the Indiana Department of Corrections to collate administrative data. In addition, the Research Assistant will work with a Data Specialist to assist in the development of an MCI alumni database that will be sustainable beyond the current project. This two-year project will culminate in the analyses and dissemination of research findings. The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, as well as developing research protocol and analyzing data. A BA degree in Psychology or related field is required.
