The Petey Greene Program is launching a new initiative in Pittsburgh, in close partnership with the Allegheny County Jail. The Regional Manager will be responsible for overseeing efforts to recruit, train, and manage all Petey Greene volunteers involved in jail and prison education programs in the greater Pittsburgh area. The Regional Manager will be responsible for managing the Pittsburgh program’s volunteers, facilities and universities. The position would require travel between the university and jail or prison facility partners. The Regional Manager will ensure that partnerships with the Allegheny County Jail or other facilities are strong, and will determine the facilities’ tutoring needs for each semester. They will recruit, schedule, and train volunteers. They will meet regularly with faculty and student groups and set up events at universities. The Regional Manager will work to support volunteers to develop a campus culture of criminal justice reform at Pittsburgh area universities, including hosting events and building relationships with key community stakeholders. Beyond these tasks, the Regional Manager is expected to continually support the volunteers at their facilities, specifically by conducting site visits and debriefs, but also through informal coaching and troubleshooting. The Regional Manager will represent the Petey Greene Program in Pittsburgh and will act as the point person for both the Petey Greene national team and external partners. The Regional Manager also coordinates the Pittsburgh Advisory Board with particular focus on the impact, strength, and growth of the Pittsburgh program.
