​The National Campaign Manager will help to build a network, engage groups and enlist their support in educating state and federal lawmakers about criminal justice issues. REFORM will amplify partners’ work and consult them in identifying the most pressing and winnable issues. Through the network, we maintain a direct line of communication with those who can speak personally and forcefully on the impact that incarceration has on a person’s family, future, and community.

The National Campaign Manager will work with REFORM staff and partners to monitor the development of legislative and administrative actions at the state and national levels, lead strategic campaign planning efforts, mobilize constituencies and build coalitions with grassroots and policy experts in local, state and federal jurisdictions nationwide.

The National Campaign Manager will also play a hands on role in communications and digital media, leading local press outreach, guide digital strategy and develop messaging and marketing materials in collaboration with other staff, partners and external consultants/vendors.

The National Campaign Manager will craft grassroots campaigns, and liaise with elected leaders to introduce, pass, and support criminal justice legislation. Candidates must be strong writers, have excellent research skills, and comfortable working under multiple, competing deadlines. Candidates who have been personally impacted by the criminal justice system and/or are deeply committed to bipartisan reform efforts are encouraged to apply. The position will be based in the THEI office in Nashville with frequent trips across the state. Under the direction of the THEI Executive Director, the Director of PSP will work closely with the rest of the THEI leadership team, the administration at our partner prisons and colleges, our policy/advocacy partners, and our legislative contacts to inform and collaborate on the creation of the Tennessee Prison College Coalition. The Director of PSP will provide strategic guidance about relevant policy developments and opportunities, help to position the organization with policymakers and other stakeholders as a credible, trusted source of expertise in the field of prison higher education, convene allied partners for various advocacy activities, and chart a course for THEI’s policy agenda. The ideal candidate can start before September 15, 2019. Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to providing educational opportunities to at-risk populations and understand the mission of THEI to be located within a larger social-justice movement. Further, we seek applicants who have experience working in education policy and working in a prison environment; flexibility with work hours including the ability to work some nights and weekends; experience with budget and staff management; and a strong commitment to breaking cycles of poverty and incarceration. Familiarity with the public higher education system in Tennessee and its relevant policy landscape are a benefit. The Statewide Reentry Council within Community Services and Housing Division (CSHD) is seeking a Commerce Specialist 1. This position supports Commerce and CSHD by helping the Council fulfill its Legislative mandate of developing collaborative and cooperative relationships between the criminal justice system, victims and their families, impacted individuals and their families, and service providers, with the purpose of improving public safety and outcomes for people reentering the community from incarceration.

S/he reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. The Research Project Manager will oversee a portfolio of new and on-going projects. The person in this position will be responsible for coordinating the activities of project teams, identifying and securing appropriate resources, updating and maintaining notes and records related to research design and administration, and developing and managing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects. The Research Project Manager will effectively coordinate the activities of the team by becoming familiar with the scope and design of project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. The available LEAD Project Manager (1.0 FTE) position would be part of a team engaged in the project management of PDA’s local LEAD work, and would entail close collaboration with law enforcement, case managers, prosecutors, and neighborhood and community leaders. In addition to day to day maintenance and troubleshooting of LEAD operations, this position likely will focus on developing LEAD in South King County, including Burien and White Center.Project Manager positions are FLSA-exempt. ​The Policy & Advocacy Analyst will assist CCF in carrying out a strategy designed to expand the number of CCF program participants and the number of supporters engaged in our national UHE campaign through policy analysis, research, writing and mobilization. This position focuses on CCF’s work in the #UnlockHigherEd (UHE) Coalition, a national partnership that CCF co-leads with New Orleans-based Operation Restoration (OR). UHE Coalition’s goal is to pass bundled legislation increasing access to higher education opportunities for currently and formerly incarcerated people. Legislative priorities include restoring Pell grant eligibility to incarcerated students (REAL Act); banning criminal history screenings on college applications; providing quality control, oversight, and standardization for Federal Bureau of Prisons educational programs (PREP Act); and removing the drug conviction question from the federal financial student aid application (FAFSA). This campaign moves quickly and involves dozens of stakeholders in philanthropy, advocacy, nonprofit, and government, and includes formerly incarcerated people unaffiliated with institutions in its advocacy. 

The Tennessee Higher Education Initiative (THEI) seeks a full-time Operations Manager. The position will be located at the THEI office in Nashville.  Under the direction of the THEI Executive Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for the management and seamless running of both long-term and day-to-day operations for THEI. As a key member of the core staff, the Operations Manager will coordinate internal organizational systems to further promote the THEI mission and will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day effectiveness of THEI internal systems, finance, and human resources functions.
